I published something on ClickWP that I think will be helpful to many bloggers.

An unsolicited testimonial for my favorite web host, Kinsta:

I’ve used other WordPress hosts, but Kinsta has been the best by far. My site is always online and speedy without even really trying. I have never experienced caching issues like some other managed hosts and I’m never worried about getting suspended for exceeding resources like on shared hosts. Their support team is small but they’ve never let me down. They may cost slightly more than other hosts, but they have been worth every penny. I can’t recommend Kinsta enough.

One of the most common questions I get at ClickWP is how to get the right image to appear in the Facebook link preview. The answer, surprisingly, is the Yoast SEO plugin. Here’s the plain English, Yoast SEO tutorial I wrote that covers the essentials for search and social media optimization.

Gabe Weatherhead at Macdrifter wrote an excellent overview of the reasons why he uses Fastmail, its excellent features and how it fits into his workflow.

I’ve been a happy Fastmail user and highly recommend it to anyone looking for reliable hosted email, or alternatives to Gmail. Check out Fastmail.

I wrote a guest post for Phase Creative, an awesome WordPress production small business in Sydney.

The tasks on this checklist are divided into daily, weekly and quarterly tasks and following this schedule will only take 10 minutes a week with an additional 30-60 minutes per quarter.

You’ve created your WooCommerce store, uploaded all your products and are ready to accept payments via PayPal. But how would you know if PayPal will play nice with your store?

Most people will make a small purchase with a friend’s PayPal account as a live test. But that costs real money and is annoying if you have to test multiple times. This post explains how to test the payment system using the PayPal Sandbox.

The PayPal Sandbox is a place where you can test your shopping cart and other PayPal integrations in a realistic way, except that no money changes hands. This means you can test your PayPal processes in the Sandbox and know they will behave the same on the when you go live.

Craig Hockenberry blogged about this excellent piece of internet lore the other day about the origin of the word “tweet” from way back in 2006

Pants_are_Overrated_– Hobbes_and_Bacon

Hobbes and Bacon is a Calvin and Hobbes tribute that takes place 26 years later when Calvin is all grown up and married (!). Calvin’s daughter, Bacon, now inherits daddy’s old toy and childhood pal, Hobbes. And it looks like Calvin married Susie Derkins! What a wonderful tribute to my favorite comic strip of all time…

Brian Clark on Marketing Land:

But the true allure of content marketing is in building an audience. Rather than the constant rat race of conventional online lead generation, an audience puts your business into an entirely different space within your industry. Instead of buying access to an audience from the media, your company becomes the media. In the process, you build an owned media asset (your content-rich website) that gets more powerful and valuable each month and each year that you continue producing content.

I’ll add a final point to Brian’s excellent article: It takes hard work
